How to present yourself in Spanish
Good morning everyone! This week in Spanish Survival we will teach you the basic phrases to be able to present yourself and have a first interaction with any Spanish speaker.
If you think you don’t know anything about Spanish and that you can’t communicate in a first meeting, this post is for you. Therefore, read on and you will discover how easy it is to present yourself in Spanish.

* T = (you) / (you)
a) Present yourself informally: At a party, in a class, in a bar etc.
I: – Hello! How are you? What is your name?
T: – Hello! My name is … (Laura), and you? / I am … (Laura) and you? / My name is … (Laura) and yours)
I: – I am / my name is / my name is … (Lucas). Pleasure.
T: – Likewise.
Where are you from?
T: – I am … (Canadian) / I am from … (Canada). And you?
I: – I am … (Chilean) but I live in Madrid. / I’m from … (Chile) but I live in Madrid. And how old are you?
T: – I’m … (twenty) years old, and you?
I: – I have … (twenty-eight).
T: – And what do you do for a living? / And what is your profession?
I: – I am … (teacher), and you?
T: – I study … (science) at the University of … (Toronto).
I: – How interesting! And what do you like to do in your free time?
T: – Well, I like … (go to the movies, dance and poetry). And you?
I: – I like it … (theater, books and surfing). Welcome and nice to meet you.

b) Press formally: With older people or in more formal contexts, we will use these structures:
I: – Good morning / afternoon. What is your name?

I: – I am / my name is / my name is … (Lucas). Pleasure.
